Linnea had been walking for days. The winter breezes ruffled her fur every five minutes and she shivered in the blanketed snow. Her paws, black and numb, didn't want to go farther, but she had to find the place.
Her mother said she needed to find the Light and Shadow, but not Dark. What could that possibly mean? How can you have Shadow without darkness? Linnea pondered this conundrum now for two years.
She sighed and her breath was hardly unnoticeable against the chilling frost layers around her. Her dark green eyes found it hard to see the mountains ahead of her. She wanted to go back to her parents, but they were gone. There was an unknown rock in the snow, and soon she fell, tumbling in the freezing winter blanket. 'Help...' she tried to scream... But her screams were faint...

The snowy air was interrupted by a sleek dark gray pelt as the wolf trudged onward, bracing his shoulders and turning his head to protect his forest green orbs from the biting snow. Somewhere above the clouds lingered low, and he could feel the atmosphere pressuring him down. Shivering, the wolf shook his pelt and bounded forward a few steps, trying to shake some feeling into his numbing paws.
Grumbling about the cold he staggered on, blinking out the melting snow that blew and pelted his face, melting into an uncomfortable dripping water that leaked down his maw and under his fur, chilling him to the bone. How long he had been out here, he did not know. All he could recall were the cries, the blood, their screams. Then the cold, onely nights, wandering alone by the moonlight, like a silent reflection of his defeated spirit. No. Not defeated. He would never be defeated.
Lowering his head even closer to the ground, he plodded on, leaping wearily over tall snowdrifts and plunging into the banks. While paused once to catch his breath, the wolf's auds caught a faint sound above the howling wind. Raising his head, he peered into the endless white, listening. No, probably it wasn't anyt-
-there it was again. As he strained against the raging storm, the faint call for help floated to him, and then immeditately it was whipped awayt. But it had been there.
"Hello?" Demyx called, shifting his paws, which had begun to sink in the rapidly rising snowbank.

Linnea, now sucumbed to the snow, heard something. Was it a voice? Could it be Light or Shadow? Linnea hauled herself upon the snow-laden mountain, trying to spread her weight so she wouldn't fall down again.
Squinting auburn eyes she saw a dark grey figure. A wolf perhaps? She c.coked her head to the side and took a few steps forward to figure out who it was. She coughed and her whole body shook, chills running up and down her pelt.
"Yes, who are you?" Linnea screamed as loud as she could, which was more like a normal talking voice. She wheezed once and her breath was dangerously visible.

Demyx jumped as he heard the voice call to him again, this time much closer, from somewhere up ahead to his right. Tilting his head the wolf plodded forward, making out the shape of another canine. She called something that sounded like 'who are you?' and the wolf gathered his breath in his chest. "I'm Demyx!" He called back, hearing his voice be whipped away by the blowing wind. Shaking his head he continued forward.

Demyx. What a pretty name. Linnea hauled herself out of the hole she was in, and balancing herself very carefully, she inched forward. Tentative black paws walked across the ice and snow, wheezing with a breath that was as white as the snow.
"Could you help me, dear Demyx?" she called as she approached the figure. She coughed again, but she was able to stay balanced. She smiled and waited for the figure's response.

OOC||sorry for the late post; away at a sleepover!
BIC|| Demyx huffed a cold breath and bounded forward, nearly sinking up to his neck in one bank. Struggling to reach the figure, he scrambled over an ice patch, nearly losing his balance. He could feel an embarassed flush redden his face, but it felt good. It felt warm, against the cold.
He reached the other, and saw now that she was a fox. A nice orange coat with black paws, that gripped the white snow and ice. The whiter parts of her frame blended with the background. "Sure," he called back, nearing her. "Where are you going?"

She felt his warm aura as he helped her up. She looked up into the eyes of her saviour. His cold eyes mirrored Linnea and she smiled. A white breath escaped as she chuckled. "Would you happen to know where Light and Shadow is?" she asked.
She felt so silly asking this complete stranger, but strangely... She trusted Demyx. No. How could she trust him? No one trusted her mother, well, at least it took them awhile. She pushed the thought out of her mind.

....Who?
Demyx shook his head sadly. "No, I'm not sure about that. I did hear that there's a 'light camp' down aways, though," Smiling, he helped her up using one shoulder, while the other braced his frame from slipping on the icy ground. Blinking, he could see his breath being whipped away from his maw as soon as the warmth escaped him. Shivering, he curled his tail around his back legs, trying to keep warm. They had to get out of here, and fast, or the cold may take its toll...

Alright. Maybe someone there would be able to help her more. With the help of Demyx, Linnea was able to stand firm on the ice, letting out a slight sigh. The cold was getting to her, but she needed to get to this 'light camp'. She coughed more and her body shook again. She flopped down on the ice, but did not fall in. She struggled back up and sighed again.

Demyx took a tentative step forward over the slippery ground, letting the fox rest on his shoulder. It just then occured to him that he did not know her name. "And who are you, may I ask?" he said, feeling his warm breath whip over his muzzle. He opened his maw and let his breath trail away again over hiss fur, warming him ever so slightly while he waited for her answer.

She smiled meekly as she hobbled forward with the help of Demyx. "I am sorry," she said, "I am Linnea, daughter of Anaki and Redfrick, but you probably don't know them..."

OOC|| ANAKI!!!! *Safi: randomly tackleglomps* so that's who she is!

Demyx nodded, but kept his shoulders steady. Okay, Linnea. Bracing his legs, his brown paws sunk into snowdrifts as they descended the treacherous mountain side. It was a beautiful scene, really. Pine trees, branches heavy with the weight of the thick snow, drooping down to shelter little hidden pockets of deep green beneath their canopy neddles. He could see some little footprints, quickly being covered by snow, and wondered at what little animal was out and around in this kind of weather. Well, maby it was this way all the time. He crinkled his nose, baring his front teeth at the thought of this the whole year. Or, wow, what about winter? It must be even worse then.
"How're ya doin'?" He asked the fox Linnea.

The snow was like white dust covering Linnea, shimmering in the cold, winter sun. Her black paws trudged across the snow. "Well, I have been traveling for moons now. My parents were taken away, and so I have been searching for the Light and Shadow..." she explained, but drifted off.
Her eyes soon shadowed a crest-fallen vixen, remembering her parents taking. Anaki and Redfrick... It seemed to be harder and harder to remember their scent, their smiles, their laughter...

Demyx trudged through the snow, his dark gray pelt being spattered with white snowfall as it blew and whipped through the air. He listened to the fox explain about her past and her search. She trailed away, a distant look in her orbs. Walking on, the wolf sighed and tried hard to push back the memories of his own family. Ahead of his the mountain side fell away, and that gave him something to think about. "Linnea," he said, turning to the fox. "Linnea!" Demyx called again. They had reached the edge of the flat of the mountain, and now their descent was upon them. How they were goign to get down would be a problem, with both of them nearly freezing to death. "We need to figure out a way to get down,"

Linnea jumped. The great descent that confronted them was breath-taking. She felt her untrustful nature turn on like a switch and her fur began to rise. While, in her head, she fought the thought out of her head. Now wasn't the time to let her contempt ruin her survival. She was in no state to handle this herself, and in no knowledge to find this 'light' camp.
"Well, what do you propose?" she asked, trying to hide the ice in her voice. She thought she wasn't sounding cold, but she could have been wrong...

Demyx raised one eyebrow and dismissed the fox's lightly snappy tone. That didn't get him down that easily. "I'm not sure. I guess we could slide down," he suggested, expecting either a laugh or a snap from the fox. Truth tell, he wasn't joking. He turned his head to the left away from the blowing wind and picked out an old trail leading downward. It was coated with ice and snow, but it looked pretty wide and safe....maybe....
"Okay, so maybe not," he decided, and searched for another way. Maybe they could...climb down...some other way...

Linnea shrugged and let her eyes drifted in the falling snow. The snow seemed to have let up a little, but only a little. She soon saw something that made her amber eyes grow wider than the vast mountain they were on.
On the side of the mountain was a series of little clefts and cliffs. They would be plenty easy to scale. Linnea walked over to the escape route and looking over the side of the mountain, she could see the ground. She wagged her tail and jumped down to the first one. An easy jump!

Demyx turned back to the fox when Linnea didn't respond, and nearly yelped when he saw her dissappear over the edge of the cliff. Darting toward the edge, he peered over and saw the fox perched safely below on a small ledge. Looking further, the wolf could see a stretch of them leading downward and to the ground.
The wolf grinned and leaped down after her, landing with a soft crunch in the felled snow. The fall had let up a bit and the wind no longer stung at his pelt and face. Thank goodness for that; now the risk of being blown off the mountain was smaller. He padded carefully up beside Linnea and looked around for their next descent.

Linnea smiled that Demyx was following her, but would this really work? Linnea looked around, turning her head this way and thatm searching for the next ledge. Her eyes spotted it, a tad smaller, but doable.
She crouched back, and let one back paw descend to find the ledge. After what seemed like years, her black paw touched it and she brought the rest of her body down on the ledge, waiting for Demyx.

Demyx peered over the edge at the next ledge and waited as Linnea made it down. He waited a moment until there was enough room for him, then leaped down, paws barely touching the ledge before he bounded down to the next one. The second one had been a little too small for the both of them, but they were making it down well enough. Green orbs searched through the white snow for the next step down the side.
