Venjari's body was shadowed. These strange surroundings were even more strange than the human household. For he had never seen this much foliage in one place. He was used to the harsh, dry envirronment of his desert home. His breathing was quick and nervous as his heart beat faster with the sound of every moement that reached his ears. Venjari knew he would be eaten alive if he came across a bigger fox, or worse, a wolf. Venjari walked forward on light paws; trying not to make a sound. He was desperately looking for some sort of den that would protect him from the dangers of the forest. He found an old abandoned Bager hole and squeezed inside. He suddenly felt more secure as he looked outside from his position in the hole. It was quite roomy, but he couldn't stay here forever. He might come back one day and not be able to fit in. But, for now.... He was safe.
But, even in the stillness of the hole, he still felt something was wrong. Suddenly, a large animal pushed him out of the hole with an inraged growl. The badger set wasn't so abandoned after all...
Venjari once again found himself out in the open. He took in a deep breath to try to calm himself. He thought for a moment about where he could go.
The lowering inferno of the sun worried him because nightfall would be the wort time to be small, and alone. He was defenceless.
He kept walking, hoping, praying that he would find a shelter before the world was consumed in darkness.
