Anaki sat in the woods up in a tree. She had been on her own ever since she can remeber. Her parents died in a battle against the Lights, which means they were Darks. But Anaki didn't want to follow in her parents footsteps and followed the Lights. She realized that before this time now that her life was carefree and she found foxes and a few dogs to stay with. One actually came with her, but now she had to take on adult responsibilities. She put her head down on the branch and waited for Moon to arrive.

In a slow pace Northern Light approached; the temperature was high here, this she knew. That was exactly the reason why she was surprised when she actually saw a living creature sitting in a tree. Quietly she gasped, looking up at the tree, her black tipped ears flattening onto her broad skull, half closing her chestnut eyes against the sun.
"Getting baked up there?"
A broad grin took form on her slim face as she didn't moved a muscle; waiting for a reply. She had no clue how the fox could handle temperatures like this, panting loudly: she could barely think.

Shadow was breathing hard as she padded up the side of the mountian. This is where Raku and herself first realized their love and affection for each other. She hadn't been here since. She padded up beside Light and saw her looking up in a tree. "What are you lookin-" she started to ask. While she was asking her question she followed Light's gaze and finally saw a fox in a tree. "How did that fox get up there? I thought foxes couldn't climb," she said to Light.

Anaki heard the foxes below and turned to look at them. She got up and jumped down at came up to them. "Is there any trouble officers?" she said, not being serious. Moon heard Anaki and appeared with food and whispered something in Anaki's ear, then Anki nodded.

"You thought. But probably you were wrong."
A broad grin appeared on Light's face as she looked up to the fox. Her grin only got broader when she heard her words, laughing out loud. She backed off a little when she got out of the tree, still grinning, black tipped ears perking at the fox curiously.
"Actually, yes. We have been told about a roasted fox. The poor thing climbed up in a tree." She sat down. "How the heck did you got up there?"

Shadow nodded in agreement. "Really? I didn't know foxes could climb. Oh, I'm Shadow by the way. Trainer of the Light army. Who are you? And your friend?" she asked with a smile on her face.

Chira bounded over a knot of thick undergrowth, before landing softly next to Shadow. 'What is everyone-' Chira started to ask, but her question was answered as her chestnut gaze rose to the fox perched in the tree. 'Greetings,' she said, more smoothly this time, and without a tone of puzzlement. The silver fox closed her eyes against the dazzling sunlight, her muzzle forming a wide grin nonetheless. [/center]

"Well," Anaki began, "I'm Anaki and this is my friend Moon. We have traveled far. Nice to meet you all." She said and sat down. "To answer your other question, a cat I met one time taught me how to climb trees. And besides, I love blazing hot temperatures," she said looking at the sun.

Northern Light grinned when she saw Chira, giving a slight nod in her direction in a way of greeting. Her answer just jumped out of the tree, actually. She frowned slightly when she heard the word 'cat', that must be a long time before the War. How would it have been? Before the War started? Really peaceful maybe, but then again, she wouldn't even be here if there wasn't a War. Plus, she wouldn't have met all these wonderful foxes, wolves, dogs, and so forth. But was their friendship worth all the life’s that the War would take?
"Ah, so you love getting baked? You're strange, you know. Not that being strange is still extraordinary. Join the club." She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yep. We have jackets! The weird thing that I do is when I swim underwater, my tail automatically sticks straight up out of the water. I think it helps me stay under longer. My father said that it definatlely did something." she said in a happy voice.

'And...I tend to drift off sometimes. Well, quite a lot actually. You can't really snap me out of it for a while,' Chira said sheepishly, grinning broadly. She was already warming to the newcomer, despite only having met her.

"You guys do know how to treat newcomers," Anaki said, then gave an awkward glance towards Moon. She wondered if things would be different between her and Moon because Anaki was going to join the Lights.

"Is Moon joining the Lights too?" Shadow asked in a happy voice.

Northern Light grinned at her compliment, lifting up her eyebrows curiously when she heard Shadow's question. Slowly she came closer to the newcomer, for a second looking at Shadow when the answer took quite long. Were they about to choose different paths?

"I would love to join the Lights! That is, if you welcome dogs," Moon said and looked at her paws. She hadn't seen any other dogs around, so she felt awkward.

"Of course you can join! We welcome any sort of dog-like animal." she said enthusiastically.

"This is great," Anaki said and then thought about her mom and dad. Should she tell them that she has Dark roots? Or just keep it a secret. She started goijng pale in the face, then moon came over and comforted her. "It's ok Anaki," she whispered.

"So, do we both need to go to the training grounds, or what?" asked Anaki recovering herself.

'It would be great if you could train with us,' Chira smiled, without waiting for Shadow or Light to reply. She had always put her heart into her training, amazingly passionate in the face of the war. She knew that she would do anything for the Lights, the feeling surging inside her like a blaze as she watched the others with glistening chestnut orbs. Chira swept her tail casually across the grasses and grinned broadly, neck craning to survey the two newcomers. The silver fox closed her eyes in satisfaction as memories flashed through her thoughts of victories and friendships, encounters and meetings. She was realising this deep history that was now interwoven with her life. Being with the Lights seemed to be the only thing that had ever mattered to her; the rest of her life appearing to be a bleak, fading memory that barely clung to the edge of her mind like a broken spiders' web. With a forepaw raised, she gestured with her head for Anaki and Moon to climb down from their perches, auds flicking and features warming gently as she waited for their replies.

"Sweet!" Anaki said and jumped. She was always enthusiatic about learning. 'Maybe,' Moon thought, 'the war will help keep Anaki's mind of the war.' This thought stayed in her mind as she padded with Anaki towards Chira.
